2008-2009 Fred Scheigert Scholarship Program
The Council of Citizens with Low Vision International (CCLVI) will award three scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each to entering freshmen, undergraduate and graduate college students who are visually impaired, maintain a strong GPA and are involved in their school/local community.
Applications may be submitted beginning January 1st and all materials must be received by March 1st. Scholarship monies will be awarded for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Applications will be available to submit on-line until March 1st at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.

The Jewish Guild for the Blind Scholarship Program
The Jewish Guild for the Blind has created an annual scholarship program for college bound high school students who are legally blind. Applications will be accepted from students at the start of their senior year, with recipients selected and scholarships awarded later in that academic year.
The GuildScholar Program will award 12 to 15 scholarships of up to $15,000 each. The next round of scholarships will be awarded for the academic year that starts in September 2007.
Application and supporting documents must be at the Guild by September 11, 2006.

Applicants Sought for Vision Specialist Certificate Program at RRTC on Blindness and Low Vision
The RRTC on Blindness and Low Vision at Mississippi State University is seeking applicants for the Vision Specialist in Vocational Rehabilitation 10-week
graduate certificate program being held March 20 - May 26, 2006. The purpose of the program is to provide vocational rehabilitation (VR) counselors and
graduate students in VR programs with the expertise to address issues specific to vision impairments. Students receive a stipend which includes tuition
and fees, per diem for university housing and meals, and a travel allowance. The program consists of four courses for 12 graduate-level credit hours:
Rehabilitation for Persons who are Visually Impaired
Resources for Persons who are Visually Impaired
Computer Access Technology for Persons who are Visually Impaired Special Project in Rehabilitation of Persons who are Visually Impaired
Interested applicants must:
· complete and return the application;
· submit a letter indicating they are interested in the program;
· submit two letters of recommendation;
· submit a transcript; and upon acceptance
into the program, be accepted for admission to the Graduate School at Mississippi State University. The registration deadline is January 5, 2006. Additional

Patrick Stewart Human Rights Scholarship
Amnesty International USA's Patrick Stewart Human Rights Scholarship offers students a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of human rights. Scholarships are awarded to promising student human rights activists to complete summer internships or other creative human rights projects in the U.S. or abroad. Most combine development of activist skills with training or research, typically last from 4 weeks to 3 months, and range from $600 to $1,800 to be used for travel, lodging, materials, etc.
Who Can Apply
The scholarship is open to high school, college, and graduate students of any nationality attending U.S. schools and to U.S. citizens studying abroad.
