2007 Interim Updates of the Red Book
The 2007 version of the Red Book is currently in production. Please check frequently for updates on status.
Here is an update with appropriate earnings levels and other figures that apply for 2007.
- Increase in the Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) amount for individuals with disabilities, other than blindness, from $860 in 2006 to $900 for 2007.
- Increase in the SGA amount for individuals who are blind from $1,450 in 2006 to $1,500 for 2007.
- Increase in the monthly earnings amount that we use to determine if a month counts for the Trial Work Period (TWP) from $620 in 2006 to $640 for 2007.
- Increase in the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Federal Benefit Rates (FBR) from $603 to $623 for an eligible individual and from $904 to $934 for an eligible couple.
- Increase in the income amounts that will have no effect on eligibility or benefits for SSI beneficiaries who are students. For 2007, the increase in the monthly amount from $1,460 to $1,510 and the yearly maximum from $5,910 to $6,100.
- For 2007, the monthly Medicare Part A Hospital Insurance Base Premium is $410, and the 45% Reduced Premium is $226. The Part B Supplementary Medical Insurance monthly Base Premium is $93.50.
