Release version 2.2 of the FreedomBox Browser

Announcement from The FreedomBox Team:

"As they say, "good things come to those who wait." We have been working our fingers and computers to the bones! We are almost ready to release version 2.2 of the FreedomBox Browser. While we are a bit delayed, we will release no software before it's time.

The long awaited version 2.2 will be released on Friday evening May 20th. Really! We mean it! Friday! You will know it is on it's way because you will get an email explaining all the new enhancements. Below find a list of new features to come in version 2.2:

All features here are for both Windows and Linux

  1. CD burning, audio and PassKey, featuring radio mix technology.
  2. CD playing and ripping with access to CDDB.
  3. FreedomScan is back and has some killer new features! It even works on the Key!
  4. Transfer files between HomeServer and local machine with PassKey and Key To Freedom.
  5. Be a part of Blogging, with text and audio.
  6. Creation of Personal web sites.
  7. Improved HomeServer reliability.
  8. Believe it or not, Windows 9x support including Windows 98SE and Windows ME.
  9. Proxy support.
  10. Now you can add RSS feeds by following link on web page.
  11. Upload files to web sites, e.g. pictures on eBay.
  12. Preferences divided into sections, with new Password Manager section.

We don't want to keep teasing you so we'll stop. Just let it suffice to say that we have one great update to come. We have a bunch more things to tell you about but they will be in the release announcement. Sorry for the delay but we promise it will be well worth it!"
