A Computer Mouse That has Braille Tactual Output
VirTouch Ltd. is the developer of the VirTouch Mouse for the blind, as part of a complete product integrating hardware, software, and a pioneering methodology, all called the Virtual Touch System (VTS). The VirTouch Mouse enables the blind to use touch in order to recognize graphic shapes, diagrams, pictures, to draw symbols, icons and graphical schemes, to read text in regular alphabets, in addition to Braille, and to play tactile computer games. It opens for the blind the graphic Internet and gives them graphical access to WINDOWS applications. As such, the device is a unique tool for both workplace and classroom. It works in parallel with existing access technology. It helps develop spatial awareness and related motor skills, as well as opens new career possibilities - Electronics, Computer Science, Hard Sciences, Visual Arts, Music etc.It also provides the base for continuing enrichment through VTS education and other software programs.
